WELCOME to the Program of Lower Division Studies in the English Department at Georgia State University. We oversee all the lower division courses (courses at 1000 and 2000 levels) within the English Department. Beyond our normal responsibilities, i.e., providing services related to lower-division English courses, we also strive to foster a community for students and instructors.

CompClass
If you are not using CompClass this semester, please read this:
Because most students in ENGL 1101 this fall will be buying a copy of Everyday Writer, 4th edition with access to the CompClass included, the department and the CompClass team want to make sure that students retain their CompClass access for the spring semester in case their ENGL 1102 instructor teaches with CompClass.
Instruct students on the first day of class to keep the access code for CompClass included in their book. On the first or second class session, assign students the task of registering their access code by following these steps:
If you are not teaching with CompClass but your students are buying the default Everyday Writer/CompClass package, please download the following file and give them the instructions within.
